Resurrected God

I’ve been learning a lot lately about how “… if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of his Spirit who lives in you.” Matthew 8:11

It’s really gotten me thinking… there are so many scriptures that explain how we are to believe wholeheartedly that we serve a risen Savior… a GOOD and loving Father who loves to give good things to His children: “If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!” Luke 11:13

“Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us,” Ephesians 3:20

“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” 2 Timothy 1:7

“And God hath both raised up the Lord, and will also raise up us by his own power.” 1 Corinthians 6:14

“Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” Luke 10:19

“And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,” Ephesians 1:19

“Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” Matthew 17:20

Jesus died, and no one around him acted as though we was going to raise from the dead… even though he said he would. The women who went to embalm him after the Sabbath was over were told, “Why do you look for the living among the dead?” Luke 24:5

If Jesus really raised up from the grave, and that SAME power really resides in us via the Holy Spirit… and we don’t believe he wants to use that power in us… are we telling God we really don’t believe in Him?

Deep down… do we REALLY believe that “Our God’s Not Dead”?

…Or have we re-crucified him by not believing He is really powerful?

What do you have going on today that you need an all-consuming fire, a RISEN God, a roaring Lion to help you with?

Error starting ProTools with Playback engine… easy Fix!

I found this so helpful! If you have trouble switching audio interfaces or opening ProTools when an old session had different Playback engine settings… you can just hold the ‘N‘ key to bring up the Playback Engine while ProTools is starting up.

“I Can Count on You”…

No matter what you’re going through today…. is it possible part of the root of your fear | panic | worry | heartache | disappointment is that you don’t really  know if God’s “got this”? Circumstances hurt. Saying “I’m fully letting go”… ? Sounds impossible. I am still repeating this prayer right now. I definitely am not there.

But together… can we sing this and pray it? Even if you’re just trying to give it over….

I’m holding on to hope
I’m holding on to grace
I’m fully letting go….
I’m surrendered to Your ways
The anchor for my soul
Father You will never change

In every season, in every change
You are near
In every sorrow,
You are my strength
You are near

A peace in the storm
Your voice I will follow
In weakness I rise
Remembering You hold my world

I’m holding on to hope
I’m holding on to grace
I’m fully letting go….
I’m surrendered to Your ways

The anchor for my soul
Father You will never change

I love You, I love You

My great Redeemer,
My constant Friend
You are near
My faithful Father,
You took me in
You are near

I will remember Your promise forever
My Strength, my Defender
I can count on You
I CAN COUNT ON YOU-
Savior, My Hope and my Shelter
Your love is forever
I can count on You

Made like Him, like Him we rise

The words to an all-too-familiar hymn rocked my thinking yesterday morning. As we sang “Christ the Lord Is Risen Today” with organ, full choir, praise team and orchestra, we hit the final verse, and the words stopped me, “Made like Him, like Him we rise, Alleluia! Ours the cross, the grave, the skies, Alleluia!”

I don’t know how many times since my childhood I’ve sung that song. But this hymn isn’t just about us going to Heaven someday, neat & tidy. It’s about US doing earthly good so others can see Heaven, too.

Because Christ rose from the grave we have the power of His Holy Spirit abiding in us to do great things for Him.

The resurrection gives us new access to be close with God, to have his Spirit inside us.

Because Jesus rose from the dead we know he’s greater than any fear or burden. Because Jesus rose from the dead we know he can heal diseases, cast out demons, or calm any storm in our hearts. Because Jesus rose from the dead we know he can cure depression, force anxiety to flee, lift the pain from a loss… Give us hope, joy… A reason to live.

His love gave us direct access to Him.  To rise {like He did} out of affliction.

“Because we’re made like Him- like Him we can rise- alleluia. Because of this- OURS is the cross- the GRAVE- the skies. Alleluia!”

Don’t let your life get so loud you forget that SAME power that raised Jesus from the dead is living inside you!

Ours the cross, the grave, the skies. Alleluia!”

Walk in that. Rejoice in that.
